Formed following the passing of a Law to Repeal the National Inland Waterways Authority Act, 1997 in 2008 and then subsequent enactment of the Lagos State Waterways Authority Act 2008, the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) is the organisation responsible for regulating, developing and managing all aspects of the waterways of Lagos State.
